European Business Awards for the Environment

The first European Business Awards for the Environment competition took place in 1987. The awards are presented every two years. The last competition took place in 2014. The aim of the competition is to recognize and acknowledge the companies that value sustainable development in their activity and contribute to the protection of the environment.

In 2014, there were 150 applicants in the competition from which 3-4 best candidates were chosen for each category. Among Estonian companies, cellulose fibre wool manufacturer OÜ Werrowool was rewarded in the category of environmental management, and manufacturer of clothes from leftovers of clothing industry OÜ AusDesign was rewarded in the category of international business cooperation.
